Overview
The Mentawais sit 150 kilometres off the western coast of Sumatra, exposed to direct swell from the Indian Ocean with no continental shelf to slow it down. The result is a concentration of perfect waves — HT's, Rifles, Macaronis, Lance's Right — that has no parallel on earth. Access is by liveaboard, which Meridian charters privately: a fully staffed vessel with your own cook, guide, and tender boat, moving between breaks based on swell and wind conditions.
